Japan is a year-round destination, but the best times to visit are during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Spring brings the famous cherry blossoms (sakura), transforming the country with delicate pink flowers. Autumn offers spectacular foliage with vibrant red and gold leaves.

Summer (June to August) can be hot and humid, with the rainy season typically occurring in June and early July. Winter (December to February) brings snow to many regions, especially in the north and mountainous areas, creating a winter wonderland and excellent skiing conditions.

If you're planning to visit the Alpine Route, note that it's typically open from mid-April to late November, with the famous snow walls being most impressive in April and May.
